You into Big Band stuff? I'm really enjoying listening to that at the moment. I like the Mingus Big Band, and The Tonight Show Band (into them the most at the moment, downloaded their greatest hits randomly off a torrent but they're awesome.
Saw Humphrey Lyttelton a few weeks ago, him and his band were ace.
Also like Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, along with Duke Ellington and Count Basie. So many classic jazz musicians/bands about, just hit youtube.0 -
Not really Jazz, sorta Blues and Big Band - Count Basie and Ray Charles.0

Cheers guys.
Rory - Any chance you can link me to the torrent?
Also anyone know of a torrent for the Glen Miller Band.

Greatest Hits Disc 1
Greatest Hits Disc 2
The torrent isn't looking very healthy at the moment, but IMO it's worth the wait. I've got "Glen Miller-The Very Best" if you have a way of me getting it to you.
National Youth Jazz Orchestra (very proffesional), GRP-All-Star Big Band, and The Phil Collins Big Band are all worth a listen also. I used to be into Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey (they used to run Big Band's a few years ago) but the only recordings I can find are a bit tinny, taken off a record.0 -
Ta much.
www.megaupload.com ? If you compress it to .rar. I would appreciate it very much.

Charles Mingus, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Django Reinhardt, Herbie Hanbernard mathews!, Satchmo, Roni Size (ooh, controversy), Sarah Vaughan...the list goes on. Most jazz is pretty good, some of it is the finest music there is. Some of it is experimental free-form jazz, and best avoided.
