360 lara was lame though (not in looks but actual game.)

Aparently... The person who Lara's based on rides bikes and has been know to have a thrash around my local woods... I'm soo proud!

Speaking of PS3s, it occured to me the other day the only reason I'd buy one is if I wanted GTAIV a few months earlier than waiting for the PC version. But then I'd also buy a HDTV too or figure a way I could hook it up to my monitor.

The new TR is a revamped version of the original? Now that'd be worth a look. [:)]

If you've got a TFT monitor it shouldn't be hard. I did the 360 with a weird HDvga somethingorother cable.

Sonic 2 was pretty amazing. I loved the final battle with the giant Dr.Robotnik.

Not as good as MGS though.

LOL, did anyone see north west tonight the other week, where a lara fan had a full sized model of laram with her guns out, which the police had taken, cut off the guns(even though they were fake) then gave the guy back the model with all the fingers cut off, and the guns cut off, making a model, originally worth œ600, down to about œ25.

Neither does 360 I don't think.

HDMI to VGA cable was the one I used.
I presume ps3 is MI.

Nah, it's a special 360 connector... HDMI is different. And you couldn't do an HDMI to VGA cable because HDMI is digital and VGA is analog. You'd need one of these to convert the signal.

Eh? HDCP is just copy protection. It doesn't affect the picture.

Ahhh - very fond memories of Tomb Raider on PS one (the massive first gen ones) - bloody great game - a classic I say! Bring on the new version!

Yeah it can. HDCP is only on HD-DVD, Bluray and (sometimes) DVD players with HDMI. I'm not too sure about stuff like Sky HDMI set top boxes. I know that pay-per-views on the scart boxes use Macrovision but not too sure about the HDMI boxes.

The only problem with 360/HDCP is the HD-DVD add on. With the HDMI 'Elite' version it would be fine, but when it can only output non-HDCP analog signals, it'll output at 720p (or it might be 480p, can't remember). So unless you have the HD-DVD add-on (who does??) you'll be fine.

So after all that crap just get the 360 VGA cable. Perfect.

Game Update:

Finished the first 3 levels. The T-Rex is a jam to kill, there are no hidey holes in the new version, so you have to stand (or run) and fight. And, the shotgun was a little bit trickier to find than in the original game.

The game play, in terms of the story line and locations is the same, but there have been some uber-tweeks to make it far more enjoyable.

I couldn't get past Venice. It was far too complicated for my 6 year old mind.

I remember having a Tomb Raider of some variety. It was the one where the training level was in her house, with butlers that followed you around and stuff. And an assault course outside... however the training level always made me too scared to actually play the game. Wasted opportunity!
