As is mine. I'd like it to stay that way.

I only have one subwoofer in the studio, but it is the size of a washing machine[:D]!
Ti gear knob would be a waste of money.
better to replace your knob with a Ti one, then you'll never have it break whilst doing the reverse cowgirl[xx(]!!

decent bass? from 2 subwoofers and are probably cancelling each other out, in a rattley car?

in order to cancel each other out, they'd have to be 180degrees out of phase with each other. This would be almost impossible to achieve in practice. the only way i could see that working is if both sub's drivers (cones) are mounted in the same box, and physically wired out of phase, resluting in a zero pressure differential when a signal is applied to them.
There are bigger problems in cars though. The fact that your main speakers are so far away from your subs, and that the accoustic properties of cars is generally terrible, means that you'd have to work REAL hard to get a 'proper' sound.
i find it hillarious (as an audio engineer) that most (ahem) 'boy racers' have no idea what real bass actually sounds or feels like, and that most subwoofers aren't actually 'sub' woofers.
REAL sub bass isn't boomy, and it's not 'pumping', you can only feel it, and a good sub system will be mighty enough to make you feel as though your clothes are physically being blown by a breeze.

If I remember correctly, from physics module 4... if both subs were mounted on the same surface pointing in the same direction, you would get constructive interference where wavefronts met eachother, and destructive interference in the gaps between the wave fronts. So you'd get parts of the car that are louder than with just one sub and parts where it is quieter.

GET IT. the 'Ti'ness of the gear knob will loose that much weight, that the car will accelerate 0-62 faster by 0.00000000000000000000000000001 seconds.
Hence, GET IT.

yeah that was my point i wasn't refering to them canceling each other out in its entirety, just the fact that 2 sub woofers is tricky to setup and in a car your probably better having one powerful one rather than 2 medicore ones.

Ah I see, yea that makes good sense.

ooho i hate boy racers, one from work was selling them cheep and i felt like buying them.
thyere mounted opposite each other in seperate boxes, i know theyre nothing compared to studio ubwoofers, but theyre far better than the factory speakers [:D]

Not if the knob was plastic in the first place though.
