hi all,
just found the site & thought id give it a go.[:I] im from kent, got a yeti kooka pelli in yellow with black sub frame, love it to bits. only things left to upgrade are the forks, wheels n bars. this is where i need your help... the forks are next... got about œ300 to spend, do i get pace or fox or...? new/second hand..?...keep saving? i do xc with the odd 5-6 step jump when feeling saucey, want to keep the weight down if poss. i dont want to ask in a shop cos they will just point to the one with the biggest price tag. i did see a pair of pace rc40's in a sale, œ450 down to œ300....hmmm carbon[:p] but a few write ups say people have problems with stick and the lock-out seezing up, is this true? what would you go for???
please help, im loosing sleep over this.

    First two bits of advice:
Have a topic title that's relevant to the question. That way, the kind of people who are able to answer it are more likely to read the topic.
Write the body so it's easy to read and understand.

As I understand it, you're after <œ300 forks for the front of a Yeti Kooka?

Hi Dan, from my experience of pace forks, they were quality some time ago, but two years ago I bought rc40xcam and they were disapointing to say the least. After a weeks riding they seized up, so I sent them back to pace and they came back with the lock out not working properly. I would go for fox or rock shox( providing you buy new, asrock shox seem to have got their act together at last). If its fox you went I have a pair of talas rlc 90-130 I no longer need. I know this is not the place to sell stuff but its a lot safer here where everyone can see whats going on. I live in Kent myself, where do you ride? paul

is it just me who can't find a trace of this bike on google?

Anyway, from the type of riding you seem to do, just go for Rock Shox revelations, they are better than fox and you can get em for 250 ish on ebay brand new with uturn.

what you never heard of this bike? well if our friend dan had spelt it kokopelli you may have found it. I found it on mtbr and it got a good review. and Dan now that I've seen it i would say you need an 80mm - 100mm travel fork.
quote:

the oil wipers are on the inside of the top of the outers.these do lube the inner leg as it compresses.turning the bike upsidedown just increases the amount of lube making it onto the oil wipers.with some lesser forks, this is essential.marzocchis have lots of oil inside though.a bumpy descent should serve
