I recently got a Dakine Apex hydration pack for when i go on hols to Greece. I've never had one before and was just wondering if you need to do anything before using it. It came with no instructions but had a cleaning tablet in one of the pockets. Are you meant to use this first before using it?
Also what are the general rules of keeping these things clean and germ free?
Cheers for any help...[8D]

I use baby bottle cleaner, called milton or something, wash it out after a ride with the stuff, then stuff it with kitchen roll to absorb any excess water, then hang up to dry. well thats what I do!

most people will tell you to fire it in the fridge between rides. TBH unless you leave it sitting unused for more than a week with water in it, it shouldn't get too rotten[:)]

Just Wash it and Stuff it with tissue to hold it open.

i'd left some water get a bit minging in mine. got the idea from here (i actually did a search...) fill with warm water and chuck in salt till it doesn't dissolve anymore. i rubbed the sides from the inside and it left it completely tasteless and clean. otherwise i just leave it empty and airing when not in use.0
