Sticky Pistons on disc brakes

I am having a problem with my rear disc brake. It's a Hope Mini. When I pull the lever the brakes operate as normal, but when I let go of the lever only one of the pads retracts fully into the caliper leaving the other one rubbing constantly on the disc. I have taken the caliper off and pushed the pistons back in as far as they go but as soon as I pull and let go of the lever 1 pad doesn't retract fully and rubs on the disc. The brake is 4 years old but has only recently been completely serviced. Anyone any ideas for solving the problem.

who serviced them? You can try taking the pads out and thoroughly clean the piston, and then lubing it with the fluid from the brakes, but be careful i think hopes have always run on dot 5.1 which is corrosive.

Dont...
Go to your LBS, and ask them to have a look at them. No need wasting money getting CRC to do them.

i did this as a quick fix on a mates minis once and it never needed touching again-
a)removed pads
b)pulled brake lever with credit card between pistons
c)dripped brake fluid on piston
d)pushed piston back
repeated 3 times
e)thoroughly cleaned
f)set brake back up and that was over 6mths agokester0 -
I have exactly the same problem!!! ARGH!! I don't know what to do...I think i'll remove pistons and clean them and bleed brake properly and see how it goes.
