Re-spoking a wheel

Does anyone know how hard it is to re-spoke a wheel of a mountain bike? All i want to do is change the hubs.[:D]

How good are you at building and truing wheels?

Which hub are you going from and to?

How old is the current rim? How many times has it been trued or rebuilt?

If you are changing hub type then you will need new spokes, at this point get your lbs to do it, they should charge about a tenner to build it and they'll toss in a free retensioning after a couple of weeks.

But on a more serious note, Go visit Sheldon Brown http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html and it itsn't too hard, but it is time consuming.

or take it to a shop for a tenner

If you are building it with a disc hub then it will have to be dished differently, get the lbs to do it, and ideally buy the hub and spokes from them.
