AM between a few bikes and would appreciate peoples advice (i have searched for other topics simlar but theres a couple of bikes i cant find anything on)
I got bout œ600 to spend
Specialized Hardrock pro (seems well rated by you guys)
Kona Cinder cone (seem expensive for what yuou get)
Scott Scale 70 2007 (cant find anything this)
Trek 6500 (as above)
Gary Fisher Marlin D 2007
At the moment the Hardrock and the Scott seem front runners.
Any help would be great.

Go for the hardrock, just about everyone on here will say the same. They are the best bikes for that money.

I have had a Hardrock Sport in the past and loved it. Crappy, heavy components but the frames are excellent and I was at the top of hills faster than others on expensive lighter full-bouncers.
Can't comment on the other bikes though. You from Darlington by the way?0 -
Not from Dalro mate, from catterick but follow darlofc.0

the scott should be the fastest if youre after cross country speed only0

Others worth considering...
Carrera Fury (Halfords) œ500 (superb frame & forks, good componentry too)
Claude Butler Cape Wrath D27 œ500 (great value, well built, great brakes & componentry)
