righty ho i have the chance to go to france next year. Thing is I will have to go with my rents.TBH im more concerned about riding than getting hammered so that doesnt realy bother me. One hitch is that we are going for two weeks and they have to have things to do there etc walking, towns whatnot. We are driving down and can stay anywhere and this is what i need help in deciding. Basicly where can we go that has great downhill etc yet has placed to keep rents occupied.

Not Morzine, Les Gets or the Portes Du Soleil. Anyone telling you they have hundreds of easily accessible trails is lying.

annecy would be good if you aren't bothered about having trails on your doorstep...wicked place to stay and PDS/les arcs/tignes etc are all doable in a day trip from there..if you are looking to ride all day while they go off and do stuff it wouldn't be ideal though.

Yeah, but whats the point in going on holiday to Annecy then having to get his parents to driver him to the trails every day? Go to the PDS. Morzine is your best bet, look a little out of town on www.morzinelets.com for cheaper accomodation.
Morzine is best bet because if you get stuck when the lifts close, its an easy ride back there mostly downhill from Les Gets and Chatel.

I guess it depends if you're after somehwere for a family holiday but you can still go ride a bit, or somehwere for a riding holiday that is alright for family holiday business!
