OS Maps....

I'm thinking of getting an OS map centred where I live as I'm on the border of different maps
I was wondering:
Would I be all right to use a 1:50000 for cycling on footpaths and bridleways (by which I mean just bridleways)? Or would I need more detail?
What grade of lamination (if any) would people suggest I get? I'd aboviously want the map to be nice and small but paying that much for a map means I'd want it to withstand the rain for a few years
Of course if there's any mountain biking specific maps (of Cheltenham/Cotswolds) that may be worth thinking about,
Any advice much appreciated.

He probably knows that, what with having just said that and all.
Bridleways should be clearly marked at any half decent scale, so yeah.

I'm thinking about getting this guide:

Whilst searching for that map I came across this as well.

I've actually got a map made by those people who do that cotswolds one but it's a mix of road and offroad and anyway I don't want to be limited to routes to be honest. I think I'll prob get 1:500
