Dead PC

I have a pc was fine until 1 min it just went dead, totally knocked itself off. When I press the on button the lights come on but nothing happens, doesn't even get into BIOS, the fans start up but nothing happens.
Im guessing it could be something to do with either motherboard or processor ?? Maybe powersupply but doubt it as the fan, lights etc do come on.
what could it be? I dont want to spend loads on replacing parts when only 1 part needs replacing.

Check the power supply first, if you haven't got a spare then take it to a local repair shop. Also check your monitor. Basically, any parts that are compatible chuck in to see if it fixes it then local pc shop

Have you checked all of the connection in side the computer and out side?

Did you mess around with any setting in the BIOS previous to this?
Sounds likes what happened to me.
i took one of my sticks of ram out, set the BIOS back to default then restarted and put the other one back in.
