Just wondering how much they could take in the way of freeride trails (drops, big gaps ect.). Im starting to get problems with my knees so was thinking of getting one.

Depends on the frame. A spark isn't going to last very long i'd imagine, but something that is designed for it would last very well, what were you looking at?

Transition double. I like messing about on streets and skateparks aswell which is the reason for the short travel but i mostly do freeride. I can only afford a frame and forks.

Sorry for the bump. I have no experiance with full sus but if i bought the double is it possible for me to get a shock with more travel, say 5inch?

Is the kona cowan DS any lighter and is it more up to freeride than the double?

If you're looking at Transition frames did you look at the Preston or Bottlerocket frames ?
Both those are around the 5" rear travel mark.
Transition Preston
Transition Bottlerocket
Some video links
Out of the 2 the Bottlerocket seems to be the one more suited to your riding with freeride drops and gaps etcDave S0 -

Got to say, that Nicolai does look fantastic.
Alot of money though :

Why would you want full sus for skatepark and street? You'd want the opposite, hence why a lot of street and park riders run rigids.

My Club Roost frame was œ400, but is a bit more xc orientated. Still is damn good any black/red xc routes!

I only go to skate parks once or twice a month and do freeride the rest of the time.
I was hoping to only spend around 800 on the frame but the nicolai looks mint. my other option was a bottle rocket and domains
