no not at all. ive surfed since i was 5 and travelled regularly to newquay and my other grandmas at feock, nr truro, all my life and i only grew up away from cornwall because of my dads work. mum and dad grew up there and my family name runs back quite a few generations in st colomb major church.

It's gone downhill in the last few years. Sadly it has a "pub culture" now. Shame, it's a beautiful part of the county, but the town isn't a nice place to be IMO.

no theres two sides to it that most holiday makers dont see. theres part of the town that is boozy and noisy but then there are other parts which are a lot nicer. plus theres places around it that again the holiday makers or emmits dont know about. and it is nice when its out of season.

Yeah, but don't most nearby towns have most of the good sides that Newquay has, just without the bad sides?

Yes, they do. If you're going to live in Cornwall, there are many nicer places to live than in Newquay. Still, buy away in Newquay, atleast you're not filling up the nice places [:p], we need somewhere to live too you know, can't always be selling to up-country people!

haha you cant beat newquay though for access to different beaches and som eof the views. i do admit there are nicer places overall to live elsewhere in corwall. still for the surf, with fistral, whipsy, watergate and perrenporth its a pretty good area .

I've never heard of whipsy. Perranporth is an entirely different town to Newquay.

sorry whipsy is short for whipsiderry beach, a small beach just north of porth beach . i was mearly using perranporth as an example of a beach which isnt too far from newquay to surf on.
