the spokes are ment to be 5 times stronger than regular spokes, hense the weight saving (1800g for the pair, the same as some crossmax sx's)- i've not read a bad review of them yet (other than the stupid uk cost of them).

the spokes come in a range of colours too - including red, blue, yellow & white!
you can get custom colours aswell.

in the uk they start at œ530 for a pair of xyclone disc's and go up to œ600 a pair for the fallline freeride/DH set - but i got mine for about œ290 importing from the US (including all taxes and shipping).

I'm not a hardcore heavy rider (i 'try' to ride smooth but more often than not, fail) so i'm not that fussed, besides theres a full warrenty on them (even though i did import them) so i'm not that fussed, and my old set are going on my xc / thrash bike which i'm building at the mo so i'll have a spare set.

I've never had a set of Continental tires that didnt grip well. Only problem I've had with them is the lack of puncture protection.

I have heard Spinnergy wheels are supposed to be quite good though.

do you mean the 30ft'er? to be honest no i've not - jumping is a skill i seem to have lost in the 5 year gap when i stopped riding. i'm gonna be moving in couple of months so hopefully there will be some local trails there to practice on (I think its mainly due to age though).

the spokes are stupidly fat and the hubs are compleatly different to any other (includeing mavic) to take the spokes, i dont agree with you there.
I had been looking for some crossmax xl's for about the last 3-4 months, but they were either out of my price range or knackered 2nd hand ones for the same price as the spinergy's - so these seemed like a great alternative.
