Help - pay burning a hole in pocket

sorry - that is a lie, the real score is I want to buy myself a new bike. At the minute I am using a cheap full sus front & rear disc bought from the back of a magazine (before you all run off laughing, it was bought to get back into riding again. That way if I didn't like it, I would not have wasted too much money)
Cutting to the chase, I think I have narrowed it down to 2 bikes. First bike is the BeOne Hornet from CRC. It is a full sus with front and rear discs though only cable. It looks really nice and the reviews on their web site read well but obviously you can't test ride an internet order so it is a bit of a gamble.
The second contender is the Specialized Hardrock Sport Hydraulic Disc 2007, whilst I am familure with the brand (having got a couple of their other products) I do not know how they are. The general thought train from reading other threads on the forum is that they are a recomended bike
What are the thoughts? all opinions gratefully received

for that kind of money you're going to want a goodish hard tale rather than a real low-end soft tail0

definitly go for the hardrock0
-
sounds like a trip to Evans is in order to have a proper look at the Hardrock
(Evans also have it a bit cheaper which is a rather pleasant thought [;)])
Does anybody actually own a BeOne Hornet? not once have I seen anyone on a related thread say they own one. Are they all ashamed at buying one?...................................................................................................

Deffinetly the spesh. Perfect starter bike, and good components for the price.

Something round here tastes bad. Could be plain old bad taste.

Just to give everyone an update - I don't bother to buy either of them.
Instead I went for a 2005 Gary Fisher Cake 4 DLX [:D]...................................................................................................
