Katy Marchant just involved in horrific crash with a German rider with both going over the barriers into the crowd. The German is up and walking, but no further news on Katy or the members of the crowd.

Hope that's the extent of her injuries!

They redesigned the edge of the track after two men went over, but clearly still haven't solved the issue.

It would seem, as the screen appears to be vertical, the extreme momentum they had from veering up the track simply carried them over.

Perhaps they need to modify the existing screen, and further up it needs to taper/curve outwards back towards the track quite significantly.

Presumably they should be able to carry out computer simulations to see what the merits/negatives of each design are.

Not sure how much that would compromise the view from the lower seats though, but looks like all involved yesterday, spectators specifically, were exceptionally fortunate, again.
