Saturday Bejesus Blowing Ballistically Around The Bell Tower
My God is it windy! Just lying awake in bed listening to whatever crap is hooning around the pavement and into our cars.
Might get up for a shufty and a cuppa tea since I'm wide awake.
Hope all is well out there beyond the void for you guys.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Morning
Rough out there. Not a squeak from the roof thankfully. Just hoping my big trees survive. It's hitting us in a West by North West direction which is better than others. Cross fingers.
Anyhoo, Shorty at Curling all day today as she's in the qualifiers for something. Why couldn't she have done cycling or table tennis or snooker even?
Coffee...

Morning
I don’t know where this wind as there’s barely a breeze here, it is pretty minging though. I think it’s time for another coffee, this time I will some water in the machine.

Morning from a damp and breezy derbyshire. Works party to brum has been binned and now going local for a beer and curry. Result. Can't stand brum. Local parkrun binned as cba to get wet and muddy, plus still not 100% recovered from virus. OH is now evil as she's got it along with young oxo. 😖. Like most things it's my fault. Think we've dodged the worst weather here for a change. Just flooding to watch out for.

What's wrong with Brum?!?

Shorty doesn't do art anymore. Shorty does mobile phone.

Still blowy but easing slightly. Half of town is shut off. Darragh is probably doing £3m pounds worth of improvement.
Tesco's roof has half blown off and they only very recently re-roofed it.

Just been down to Tesco to get supplies, luckily it still had a roof. Same weather here as most places, wet n windy - just watching some of my taller trees swaying enthusiastically in the breeze.
Back out into town later and a spot of admin etc later. May need to take the hounds out for a dump walk later.

What's right with it. The road network is 💩. It's full of brummie's. Bare in mind I was born a yamyam, luckily I wasn't brought up there. I worked in and around brum for a few years. Best thing about Brum is the road out of it. Apologies to any offended brummie's.

What's a Yamyam?
1 -
People living in Birmingham often refer to Black Country folk as Yam Yams because they say 'yow am' or 'yow'm' instead of 'you are', whereas the term 'Brummie', used to refer to people from Birmingham, is derived from 'Brummagem' – traditional Black Country speak for Birmingham.
My relatives are genuine yam yams and were forming a posse.
Brummies have a sense of yuma.

I love it when someone from the Black Country says "reticulated python" as I overhead at W Midlands Safari Park. 🤣

Are you related to everybody. I know theory we all are but I mean closely related.

Does anyone else currently have indoor waterfalls. It seems all our North facing windows and doors do not appear to be that well sealed.

Your new house seems a bit, um, problematic?

Well, Mrs P called me in a panic on Thursday 'cos there was water coming into the kitchen through the window. Not normally, it's just that the front gutters were off temporarily whilst that part of the roof was getting done. Cue call to doable glazing form for new seal(s?).

My brother has been tracing our family
forresttree. Some time ago (about 200 years), a member of my family moved to Southern Ireland from North Wales. Later, he married an Irish woman. Amongst their progeny, was a daughter who married a southern Irishman. They had a son who moved to Northern Ireland and his son moved to the town I live in now. He set up as a coal merchant - he was our coal merchant in the 1980's. He had 2 sons, of which 1 still remains and runs the business that his father left him. So I told him this information to which he was intrigued and now I call him 'cousin Ed'. What a funny world. My family has no history here.

Although it was modernised 10 years ago bits of it are several hundred years old. Also it seems to the builder doing the renovations was having difficulty get money off the developer, so there may have been some hidden short cutting. Also nothing much has been done maintenance wise since the renovation, it doesn’t look like it’s even seen a paint brush.
