    [More revolution blues]

    Morning

Dark still just about almost. Brr (and it's heading your way). It may even snow. Considering it was 10+ last week, this is quite a drop in temp.

Birds will get extra fat ball balls today.

    Coffee then chores.

    Morning

Minus temps here and quite sunny. Not sure what is planned for the day a head, I was hoping to climb but it might be too cold in the garage.

Diverticulosis (majority of people have the small balloons in the colon wall), burst, peritonitis, sepsis, organs shut down, one is in trouble... Can happen to anyone. I had no idea until the day I started to feel unwell, 111 then 999, remember being taken into ambulance then blank. Have had multiple procedures. And the level of NHS care has been superb, I'm alive after all. From medics various comments I think I was on the minority chances side, so well done surgical teams. Plus being rel fit will have helped 😊

    Book out for Christmas? Nah.

@orraloon I'll let you off not answering my calls but next time...

Catch up with you soon. Let me know when they release you. Will be there on the 5th if you are still in and i'll pop in and take some pics see how you're doing.

    Good luck.

Good grief @orraloon ! Hope you are feeling better? That seems like a very close call. It's amazing how quickly you can go from 100 to near Zero with Sepsis. Good job they caught it. Sounds like you've been through the mill. An I thought I was doing badly with my months of Chemo and side effects!!!

Wishing you a speedy recovery. How's the stoma? I'll probably be fitted with one in the new year after chemo and 2x ops. What's it like having a redundant arsehole? πŸ˜‰

    Morning. Productive day.

Daughter spent an extra night at home after the ambitious 19km hike she did. She was knackered! SO had to drop he back at Uni 1st thing this morning.

Washing done and hung to dry in spare room as it's drizzle here.

Online shop with Halfrods and discovered some good discounts on a 1/4" socket set, screen wash and set of wipers. Will collect later.

Online consultation with Oncologist in 30 mins. Need to order more meds and show pics of worsening rash over whole body now.

Off after lucnh to get dressings changed and PICC line flushed with bloods for next Chemo on Wednesday.

Apart from that I've actually felt quite normal and healthy for the last day or so. That will all go South after Chemo so making the most of it!

Christ, you were lucky Loon, good to hear you survived and are on the mend. Sepsis came within a whisker of killing a bloke at work - under 40 years old, very fit, keen cyclist and did iron man type events - he's now missing a hand, a lower leg, a thumb and several toes.

We did think it was a bit unlike you to go totally AWOL with no warning, but now we know. Goes without saying, GWS.

I was going to say another dull Monday but then you hear about stuff like the above and thank your lucky stars.

Back to the early-ish starts, up in town doing the usual torturing of numbers and dealing with stupidity. Got a pork pie as a supplement to help me through the morning.

Morning all. Definitely cool today, in fact to bloody cool for working outside up in the air on a cherry picker. Well Loon given your problems we'll forgive you for not letting us know. Glad your on the mend, I think you could do with putting a few quid on the lottery. GWS to both Mr Loon and Mr P69. Anyway breaks over so onwards and upwards, literally. ☝️

    Afternoon folks,

Back in the orifice after a weekend that felt far too short. Bit fresh for the wobble in as well, going to be a wet one heading home and getting colder. This is not fun.

Glad you made it through 'loon, that's one hell of a scare. Hadn't heard of diverticulosis before, although the old man's cancer started in his Meckel's Diverticulum. Apparently that's a thing some people have that is the remains of the foetal digestive system. Good luck with the recovery, sounds like it will be a struggle but if the brain says you will recover that's a good start. Keep positive as I'm sure that helps, well done to the medical staff.

Onwards and upwards sounds a little trite now.

Different courses towards crossing the line for us, good luck with the ongoing treatments.

A fartfree a-hole? There's a first. I'm learning how to do the stoma bag changes, is actually straightforward with things like the adhesive removal spray. Nurses have said my stoma looks rosy!

  • Wow , hell of a shock! Glad to see you back, all the best with recovery.
