Yawn. It's yesterday's high steroid dose. Need to up the Zopiclone.

Tea. Breakfast. Snooze. Coffee. Boat bashing (if tingly fingers permit). Snooze etc etc etc.

Woke up at 3.45 for some reason, wemt back to sleep then the alarm clock was rude to me at 5.50. I blame not drinking last night but, but on the upside I'm having a few beers in town tonight.

    Morning

    Murky grey again.

New oven arrives at sometime today from AO. The 'old' one is only 6. However, the marvellous kitchen fitters neglected to remove the transport screws during installation and various 'fixers' came and went and had a go until the warranty period had expired. So the oven door has never shut properly. It did for a while because as soon as the warranty had expired, I had a pop at it but you could see where the frame was bent. The kitchen company really should have honoured their commitment to delivering 'passion' and 'high standards' since 1412...

@photonic69 : Phenergan helped me not to sleep as such but to relax. I found it better than some barbiturate/suppressants.

Oven arrived just now! They left Glasgow at 5.45am. I know what i'm doing this morning.

Tricky gets a peg plate fitted today in Dumfries which gives me a chance to drive the M dealer/pimp wagon.

    Coffee...

Handy being able to do things yourself innit Stevo?

Notice lower panel. That's 400 years of passion, commitment and delivering quality. I would move it except it's in with grab adhesive.

Supervised sparky who was assigned to swap over meters on main board. Clearly being paid with public money as he was quite leisurely about the whole job.

Swapped shifter hoods on the Seven for new ones which finally turned up, old ones were decidedly gross. Dropped crank out of the new trainer bike and re-greased it all as it was feeling pretty dry and noisy. Seems considerably better which is good as I CBA to get a bearing extractor and press tool for the job.

@photonic69 Mr WS had the cold sensitivity thing, which got progressively more severe as the treatment progressed, but it is (finally) fading now. He made great use of one of those microwaveable wheat bag heat packs.

I wonder how @thistle_ is getting on these days up the hills with an antenna?

    Nice Iroko (?) Worktop!

Ours is very similar. I made it 23 years ago from reclaimed Chemistry lab worktops and tables. They had huge skips full of hardwood when they demolished the Chem dept. I took as much as possible. Kitchen. Fireplace surround. 2x office desks. Hallway coat rack. Back door threshold.

    Morning

Another grey one and it’s a bit dank. Lots of banging going as we currently have carpets being fitted up stairs. Today should be a bike ride but it feels too yuck outside.

Client meeting cancelled so WFH instead.

Gym gymed, knee feeling much better. Not much else to report.

I might post a pic of our oven.

  • Was misty 1st thing, but cleared up to just overcast, fairly mild and not too windy though. Decent 100k ride with pal, chilling now with cup of tea watching it get dark.

Big batches of soup to make shortly for group weekend away.

    Evening folks,

Busy day in the orifice with bits of shirking at times, took the car for an MOT, thankfully it passed. Fettled front wheel bearings of a lovely young ladies velocipede and helped a mate drop his car off. Classic car show at the NEC tomorrow, I'm working in the employ of the current company, but will be schmoozing to lay foundations for the new job. Might be a bit strange.

We got a pair of Miele ovens free from the house the old dear bought, fitted them myself and the most awkward bit was getting both clocks to exactly the same time.

Its a pain, we've got three (neff) and a few seconds difference gives people anxiety.
