No pineapples were harmed in the making of this Saturday thread.

Somewhat windy. A bit of yard cleanup till boredom set in.

Possible afternoon nap coming.

Walk hounds, run, maybe swim or turbo.

the get some black clothes on ready for afternoon drinking followed by seeing the cult later. Still unsure why we booked it, but should be a giggle

    Morning

Feeling a bit jaded this morning as we went to the reopening of the pub in the next village last night. Need to persuade Mrs W to give me a haircut at some point to day.

  • Overcast but looks dry, outside ride with pal later.

Murky start here, hounds are hunkered down so think I'll venture outside and get supplies including getting some stuff to build a new compost bin for our leaf mountain. Tip trip later with and may clean crud off the car if time.

    Morning

@Wheelspinner as a voluntary custodian of this thread, please post between 1700 and 1730hrs Taz time, to maintain consistency. I was up at 5.11 so I could have posted. Had some dream about being pulled over by the police.

Today I am free as a bird once the DW's are out of the door. Rollers yesterday killed me.

    Pizza and vino later.

    More coffee now.

Morning. Swiftly sidestepped any pineapples in the Isles at my 8am Sainsbury shop.

Shopping shopped. Stowed and tidy. Local shops done too.

Daughter back from uni for a day soon so much coffee and backgammon beckons.

Our local road WhatsApp group is kicking off big time about someone ordering her builders to cut security padlock off rear lane access gate as they needed access. It's become a total bitch-fest. Good job I bought some meecro-wahvey popcorn earlier. Might be an entertaining afternoon.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

  • Local 'friendly' WhatsApp groups are usually entertaining.

  • Short ride as pal had the start of a lurgy, been watching redwing eat rowanberries for a bit. Maybe takeaway Thai meal for tea tonight.

    Afternoon folks,

Up early for me at the weekend to go to a bike jumble, got some chainrings, some toeclip straps and a pair of shifters along with a hot dog and a cuppa. Considered a large and slightly scruffy Pinarello frame, discounted it as it was rather heavy. My mate failed to sell his Rotrax frame but bought, pedals, clips, brake levers and some other bits. Someone was selling a lovely De Rosa for £650 but it was too small for me.

I started a WhatsApp group for my road as an alternative to the 'official' one, it's only for the purposes of organising drinks, no lost pets allowed.

Out later for cousin's 60th birthday bash, should be fun.

Let us know what the gig was like - might want to go see them sometime.

Agreed, I missed seeing the Southern Death Cult when I was about 15 due to having glandular fever 🙄

Go see 'em before they die is my approach. Worked in the case of The Buzzcocks but missed out on The Clash and The Ramones.

Well, that escalated quickly!! Councillors involved and threats of Police being called.

A number of people are quite miffed and have flounced off the chat Rick Chasey stylee 🤣

So much for a friendly residents group chat.

Evening all. Very early start today after driving to mates then being chauffeured to sheep sh#gging country and Degla. A very nice session on some black, red and blue trails was had. Pity the cafe was rammed, had to make do with a drink and cake as cba to wait 30 plus minutes for food. Came to conclusion that I wasn't fit enough, although fitter than many stopping on the climb to the top some of whom rode cheat bikes. No stopping for me apart from an involuntary off when rear slid out from me. Local WhatsApp groups are better then face💩 for causing WW3. 🤭

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

All residents were given a key about 18 years ago when the council fitted the gates. You had the opportunity to buy a spare. We have 2 keys. As others sell and move on then keys become lost etc.

This saga didn't affect our gates as we are on the other side of the road. I blame the common riff-raff elements at the lower end of the street. TBH as the gates belong to us all they had no right to cut the lock as these key-alike security locks are flipping expensive!!.

I deliberately avoid 'open' neighbourhood WhatsApp groups as they seem to full of petty stuff from local gobshites with nothing better to do. We do have a WhatsApp group for our cul-de-sac sac as there are only 4 houses and it's handy for checking if somebody parked in the 'communal area' isn't some random parking bandit - and arranging the occasional beer.
