Crankbrothers stamp 1

I purchased a pair of Crankbrothers stamp1 gen 2 pedals and tried them out today but my heel strikes my crank arm every now and then.

Problem is the stamp 1 spindle is short and I can't use a pedal extension because of the way Crankbrothers use an over sized Allen key and it wouldn't fit in the extension hole.

Is there another way to gain about 10mm clearance?
