I know it is an age old tactic, but it seems hard to justify to me.

And before that there is certainly no room for anyone to pass. The Decathlon riders were literally bumping shoulders with each other. Wout was up there with them and says they did nothing wrong. The worst behaviour was from Rodriguez who used the crash to launch an attack (and from JV for speaking bollox as usual).

The overhead where it's all fine as they go under a tree and then as they come out Carapaz is falling to the ground? Do you have x-ray vision?

I guess it's possible that Carapaz could have grabbed the Decathlon rider and dragged him across the road so he ended up that much closer to the edge of the road, but I'd suggest it unlikely.

The overhead where the Decathlon rider is retreating from the very edge of the road after Carapaz falls. Pretty obvious what happened.

Really? It looks like there was a collision of some kind that caused the Decathlon rider to move right but absolutely no possible way of telling what caused said collision.

Looks to me like Carapaz's front wheel dropped off the edge of the tarmac road and he fell into the Decathlon rider.
