Carbon frame help

Hi, Last year I bought a lovely Pinarello FP Due frame but the previous owner removed the cable stops on the down tube because presumably he used a Di2 set-up.

I just took it to my LBS who told me I’d be better off taking it to a carbon repair place. I’m based in North West London so can anyone help??

Or offer any alternatives.

TIA

you say they were 'removed', simply unscrewed? or cut/ground off?

if it's the former, try pinarello and see if they've got replacements still available

if there're mounting holes still there, you might be able to fit generic stops, sjs have a lot of stuff like that...

I’m not sure how they were fixed originally but it looks like they were riveted and glued/epoxyed.

Ive got the cable stops do I’ll try to post up a couple of photos.

I’ll have a look on the link you sent.

Something like this could work as an alternative. The issue is that the FP Due downtube’ diameter is rather large.

2 other options I’ve got are to retro-fit a Di2 system or run the cables internally.

I don’t know what either of them involves work wise.

What you require is something like what Darrel1967 posted, or DI2.

PS - What a bodge job, what a numpty!

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

that's awful! assuming those aren't threaded, it might need a cf repairer to get it back to the point you could mount cable stops, but you'd need to find something compatible, or get 'traditional' bosses added

the clamp-on stops pictured could have the clamping part cut off and a cf repairer could fix the remaining part to the frame

internal routing option seems unlikely if it had fixed external stops

rather than di2 with the cables etc. i'd go consider sram's system, easier to install, no cables

Ah! Being a luddite I assumed DI2 was wireless. Carry on.
