First I have Autism, so I apologize now if I at any time appear confrontational, it is NOT intended please, anyone, let me know if I upset you, thanks.

Hope you don't mind Ebikers here, why, well........................

Whilst I am sure you are proper cyclists there are many like me who only cycle occasionally, by that I mean "nice weather cycling".

I started back two years ago at 20 stone, 65, bad knee waiting for an op/replacement, diabetic.

I am now 13st, 8lb, 67, and my knee operation has, after consultation been cancelled as I have never been/felt fitter or healthier, I have even come off the Co-Codamol tablets as I have zero knee pain now.

As a single father of three autistic sons I finally wanted to live as long as I could to support them. 😉

So why e bike, well as I said I have Autism, I can either drive everywhere, BORING, or cycle, yesterday I did home to Aberaeron, 50ish mile round trip, for a carers afternoon out, I also cycle home to Aberystwyth every month 38 miles and depending on weather 3/4 times a week 12 miles to a the river bank cafe for cake and tea.

I would NOT do it on a bike, nerves, actual fear about not making it, e bikes are the best thing that has happened for the disabled, adhd (me also) and autism.

  • Welcome.

Firstly, that is a remarkable result on the weight loss, and a few of us might be jealous. Well done 👏.

There is absolutely no need to apologise for riding an ebike. Many people ride them and many ride legtronic. Many, including myself are lucky enough to have both. I think it's great that you make the point that you couldn't have achieved what you have without the assistance that an ebike gives you.

It's still the same sport/hobby and if you've managed to gain that level of fitness whilst enjoying the great outdoors then I'm sure we're all happy to have you on the online community
