BB Removal Tool
I have an oem 386 bottom bracket that has an outer that looks like that in bb1.jpeg. I've been looking at tools like bb2.jpeg that fit a number bb types but pictures such as bb3.jpeg shown them being used for 386 bb's that have a different shaped outer (bb3.jpeg and bb4.jpg). My bb has 16 notches and is approx 49/50mm in diameter. The shape of the outer in bb3 and bb4 is different from mine and I think they are called fsa386 evo (not 100% sure). Is it that the bb2 type tools fit both because although they look different both outers are effectively the same (but have different thicknesses) or are the outers completely different and need their own 386 bb removal tool?

would be better to post pictures of your actual bb and/or identify the bike model
my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Pic 1 is inboard ,pic 3 is an .outboard bb .
The tool for either can be very specific in some cases ,it normally goes by how many splines they have ,if you get that it will normally fit .
Though for the inboard flatter shell I use Wheels Manufacturing tools as they are made flat
thisone has 2 sizes on it

Thank you - that explains it for me. My bb is a 16 notch 49mm diameter device so I now know what tool to purchase.
