experience with toe clip overlap accidents
recently at a road bike rally in Arkansas a friend had a low speed fall accident whilst turning left across the road into a rest stop. They did not know exactly how the fall occurred but post hospital discussion and inspecting the bike showed significant toe interference with the turned front wheel.
The common thinking is that overlap is not really a problem since it only occurs at slow speed. the question is : is falling at slow speed in the middle of a road really not a problem?
Who has had a similar accident or close call and is preventing this type of accident really a matter of rider skill ?

This is a lesson commonly learned the hard way while young and not on main roads. Do not continue to pedal if turning sharply. The follow up lesson is inside pedal up if leaning over enough for the pedal to touch the ground.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.1
