Today's TDF stage, where would be a decent distance from the end to watch from?

From the bottom of the Cat 2 climb today, I would say

I don't know - as much as you can today but definitely before the climbs. 60km to go onwards would give you a decent grasp on what went on.

Technically the bottom of the cat 2 is "before the climbs"

I've reconsidered. See the sprint and watch from there. 65km.
Your "only the climbs" option is for lightweights.

Enjoyed yesterdays stage, only managed to see the last 35km.
Pleased for Carapaz, always liked his riding style, bit sorry for Yates.
How about today then?
Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
Scott CR1 SL 12
Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
Scott Foil 180 -
Highlights package maybe.

Last 35 kms would show most of the action.

Just a note for anyone watching stage 19 by catching up on Eurosport, the descent of la Bonette is quite fun just for Adam Blythe's face as the moto tries to keep up.

How about today guys?
About to head out on a ~4 hour ride, so can probably watch some of it when I'm back with my meal.

Final climb / 10km

Yeah just the final climb today. Bonette wasn't even improved by someone going over the edge like 2008

ITV did a piece about him on the rest day show. He's running a cycle touring business in Italy
Strangely, from a project I did in 2008 he's still my friend on Facebook. Chris Froome was at one point as well but his personal page turned into a managed "fan page" type thing

Last 15km today I would say

(I genuinely thought it was Froome who took the tumble. He was first over though, right? In my mind it's all merged...)
Edit of the edit - nope not even that...
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

No, Froome was ahead of the main group I think. I remember Paul Sherwin raving about "this young kid from Kenya"

OK. Where should I watch the Olympic Road Race from?

75km?

Give an alternative view haha

No it’s more I didn’t see it and I’m unlikely to find time to watch all 75km, mainly as I also want to watch the athletics etc
(I’ve had probably the worst month I’ve had in about 5 years just gone and I’ve been sleeping badly. Just started my holiday and managed to nap solidly from 3-6pm here so the race flew by me!)

You don't have to watch it all unless you like helicopter shots of the Sacre Coeur, but it started happening properly with about that far to go.

I.thought 75k out was a worthwhile investment
