Morning all. Lovely ride in to work early doors. Dry bright and cool. Currently keeping out of the way on projects and hiding from being dumped with work experience lad. Poor kid doesn't want engineering but his old man's pushing him seeing as he works here. Hopefully steady ride home later followed by a steady run.

Afternoon. Scorchio Day!! What a week to have off work. Trouble is it's too hot to do many of the tasks I wanted to do around the home.

Nice hill climb ride today 1,800 ft in 15 miles. Too hot and sweated buckets. Now snoozing under parasol with an iced cola.

Day 2 of 3 volunteer working in The Gardens / Reserve. Got well hot 'n' sweaty, partic when shovelling a trailer load of leaf mould as a mulch to prettify the cleaned up bed. Good bantz with the team though, chat and laughs always brighten the day.

First coldie being enjoyed, one does have to rehydrate properly, while enjoying the view and the Red Arrows delete that kites squadron following the silage collecting crew around.

On the Reserve tomorrow, hopefully see the ospreys and peregrines in action.

Evening Folks,

Busy day here, spent the day doing some 'Loon style volunteering with a few of the minions at some place over in Surrey that helps people with mental health issues. Did lots of weed pulling and shit shovelling type stuff which was good fun in the 30 degree heat. Come back to a few emails to deal with then its time for a cold G&T.

Jings, not normal for taxdodgers et al to be contributing effort for no cash return. 😉 But fair dos, respect. 👍 I have found that doing voluntary works over the years of types various but mainly Green does give me positive mental feedback. I can end a day feeling well fuxked physically but well happy. Is prob because interacting with others who are effectively doing the same is a bond.

Fine with this heat if you're relaxing with a cold drink like now. Shit shovelling in that heat was hard work but we got it done. (Well compost and soil but you get the drift).
