National cycling show

It’s on at the NEC, tickets are cheaper than parking, but looking through the exhibitors… basically only Merida and Specialized among the bike manufacturers (plus maybe a few less famous)… is that the state of the business?

No Trek, no Cannondale, no Bianchi, not even the UK based ones.

Went 2022 and was very disappointed tbh. Loads of fitness related stuff rather than bikes or bike related stuff. Just a few bespoke cargo type bikes. I went expecting all the big boys but never mind. Some good skills demo stuff though.

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

I think it is just the way all these types of show have gone. The pitches are way too expensive for the independent retailers, whatever they sell. Parking is expensive. Food is crap. People go once and say never again.

They're a long way from the buzz that surrounded the Ski Shows in the late 80s and early 90s for example.

Once of theNEC cycle shows had a good standard crit race on the Saturday evening about 12 years ago.
