Still autumn here, but with strangely light evenings.

Slept well after yesterday's pedalling and a slightly more relaxed Friday awaits. Junior hound is off to the vet later as he's cracked a tooth so my wallet is taking pain killers in advance. In the meantime dealing with stupidity and tax mitigation is the order of the day. Plus coffee.

Woke at 5:30 after working till 11pm. Don't think coffee will hit the spot. Shame Amphetamines are banned. Work today until I can't then copious amounts of beer or wine tonight until I fall asleep which might be 6:35 this evening.

    Moaning,

The overnight sogginess has abated but its still cool and damp, forecast says more soggy to arrive this saffto… 🙄

Early chores completed, still need to food shop though. Get that done and I can see an early pub visit happening – chin-up 🚳

Dahn saff in The Valley, staying over with #1 daughter and partner and onboard next gen. Summer here is pretty much same as in The Homeland, i.e. pants. Will do some garden pottering for them, out front as the pro team of hard landscapers are busy transforming the rear garden. Is a on 4yo new build estate so had been left in post-builder trashed with a skim of topsoil mode. My role? Come up with the soft landscaping plants and positions list. Hard work eh?

Afternoon peeps. Safely back home having circumvented the download traffic. Weather is well minging, the old saying black over bills mothers is very apt. Pinno i sympathise with you, i kicked mine down under to kiwi land. Luckily due to blood pressure issues she can't fly back to the UK. Result.

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

I empathize with the sister thing. When my dad was dying she used to drive down from Scotland every few weeks, having to return to sign on etc. She had a clapped out old Fiesta. I was always in a dilemma as to whether to check her oil or loosen her wheel nuts before each trip....

    Afternoon

Spent the morning walking round a soggy Kendal including a mooch round the Quaker museum. Now back at the cottage and I think it’s time to catch up on the cycling.

    Afternoon

Forecast for this morning and this evening was dire so didn't pedal in to work. Of course, it turned out dry and sunny.

Off to help at local TT later.

Wasn't it Frankie Boyle who had that show 'Tramadol nights'? Probably a few Scotland fans who've been on the Tramadol tonight...
