Shimano BB-71 Types

I had a 'look around' and to be honest still not sure. BB needs replacing - just removed it. It is a bb71-41. There is a bb71-41, a bb71-41a and a bb71-41b (this is for a road bike). Hard to know what is the difference - hence which one to buy. Any help appreciated.

    Looks like 41a = MTB and 41b = road

    The difference between the two is the bb shell width

    The difference is the piece of plastic in the middle of the cups .

    You can buy either and if you're existing middle part is OK just reuse it .

    As above one ,tge shorter one is road the other is mtb
