Still work to open the Col du Galibier

Yesterday, I attempted to get to the tunnel on the Col du Galibier but found the road still blocked at around 2,450 metres. In talking to the cafe owner at the Col du Lautaret, it seems the road clearing is behind schedule as the snow clearing machine has broken down three times - due to too much snow and ice. It's still a nice time to ride as the road is closed to cars.
