Turbo Trainer service

This could have gone in workshop as it is really maintenance related, but what the hey! I have a Wahoo Kickr. For quite a while, the freewheel has made a very loud whirring noise, much louder than it should. I assume it is either bearing or belt issue. Has anyone had a direct drive turbo serviced or done any maintenance themselves? I know it is issue dependent, but is it easy to service/change parts on them?

only when it’s cold or all the time?

  • All the time. The trainer itself works perfectly, it is just the decibel level.

I'd contact 'The turbo trainer doctor' off of facebook.

I'm going to take him my Neo later this year for a full service, some preventative work and new bearings, as well as having new bearings put into the original part, so I can swap that out in the future.
