Changing rear cassette ratio

Hi everyone, I'm hoping you'll be able to help. I have a 3x9 Shimano 105 groupset with a rear cassette ratio of 13/25 (circa 2005, I think 5500.) I would really like to change my cassette ratio to possibly 11/30 or 11/32. But after some searching it looks like my rear derailleur will only allow 11/27? I can get a 11/28?

If I turn my limit screw fully in will that be enough for the 28 teeth? There was mention of a longer b-screw?

Thanks in advance.

In my experience you can add one or two teeth so the 28 should be okay but I've not used that groupset.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

  • You would need to get feedback from others about compatibility, but just a thought...

My '20 Voodoo Marasa hybrid is 3*9, 12-36 cassette with I think 26-36-48 triple chainring, using an Altus GS(?) rear derailleur.

  • Thanks for the advice, I'm going to try the 11/28 🤞 it works.
