Bonjour les froussard
Into the shadows tipsy. That's the spirit.
Between Jocelyn and Isha and it's a bit soggy. It's all getting a bit silly now. So far: lost some lead flashing off the roof but everything else is looking ok. Overnight might be a bit different as the wind is coming from an alternative direction.
Stay upright elder brethren,

A perfect day to go back to bed. Rain starts soon, wind picks up this afternoon. Coffee and finding a cozy corner to make a bed out of coats is the order of the day.

Have a good trip SG
decent long walk with the hounds, now work snizzle. Later is maybe the gym / swim and run again or maybe just the run if I can’t convince the current wife

Enjoy sg. Tipsy is the only way to fly.

Stuck at home nursing a cold and swearing about missing my most lucrative day of the week. Still at least I managed coffee and cake in the sunshine by the sea yesterday before succumbing.

In the cave waiting for the next storm to roll in. Coffee and Teams calls await while Mrs. 666 braves the outdoors with the hounds.

Up early and still got to work later than most people.
Have forraged so hubkering down in the warmth today. Physio later when I sort of tell a white lie about how much I've been doing. Kids football tonight so not much in the way of bendyness.

Just grey and a bit of damp forecast here. An OK day to be ill, and I can do that British thing of saying, when the weather's crap, "Well, at least it's not cold".

Grey and soggy, coffee as power back on. Chainsawing then group Zwift later...

Morning folks,
Sat in the dentist's waiting room twiddling my thumbs. After being seen I will enjoy a day of dealing with idiots remotely. Grey and moist out there, very British weather.
Onwards and upwards...

What would you have been doing Brian if fit and well?

Yep, topping out at 13C here later today, so about 15 degrees up on last week. Mind you, I want it to be cold in France as I'm off to the Alps this weekend.

Take Jocelyn, Karen, Lucy, Matilda et al with you. For the good of the country, dump on those pesky Europeans with their ski slopes...
Another miserable wet grey windy day, just for a change. Bored bored bored...

I suppose I could go to Scotland instead. The only slight problem is that the skiing up there is a bit shyte.

Morning. Wet, cloudy, sunny, dry, windy, misty. A veritable Cornucopia of weather here.
At least patch repair on tooth has lasted more than 12 hours. I'm surprised.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Afternoon
Pissing down here and blowing a Gale. Earlier was a trip to the dentist and 190 quid for a filling, now attempting to drink a cup of tea with a numb mouth. Although I should be grateful that said filling was pain free which I think is a first. Later will be a session on the board and keeping out of the way of the decorator.

Cloudy but otherwise mild day. Quite happy with that, chatting with mate in Adelaide where it was 41 deg C today. He was at the beach after dinner about 8pm for a swim while it was still 36...
Fairly uneventful day all round hacking out more old scrubby stuff in the "garden". Struck a bargain late though, saw a "gravel" bike for sale locally for what seemed cheap. Asked a few questions, went for a look. Seller was a nice bloke, and not at all dodgy, just clueless. Shifting is banjaxed, but that'll be because the cables are kinked and/or broken. Levers still seem to click click ok. Otherwise nearly mint. Needs a tune up, a clean, swap a stem for a bit longer and get a decent saddle on it, good to go. So there's a project for the next few days.

Not sure it's going to play ball... local French forecast is for rain up to about 2000m tomorrow, but hopefully you're higher up on a glacier. Fingers crossed for you anyway.

That reminds me; I need a new bar and chain.

£190 for a filling? Cheaper for Seano to drive up there and back.

Resort is at 1,600m but goes up to 2,500m with a good depth of snow already, so should be OK. And it's pre French hols so will avoid the swarms of helmet wearing midgets.

That’s private dentistry for you, fortunately I can claim most of it back on health insurance. I don’t suppose you tried to register with a NHS dentist recently, that’s if you can even find one.

Yeah, we are super lucky we still have NHS dentistry in our County. My mate that lives 18 miles away in Wiltshire has had to take out private dental insurance as there are no adult NHS dentists left. Even so my crown will cost £306 on the NHS or I had the private option (tooth coloured crown) for £755. As it's a Molar I'm not bothered and it's been mostly amalgam for the last 15 years.

I meant Seano paid much more for that. I do have an NHS dentist and she is very good but you can only get so much done on the NHS.

I was a bit pissed off that my NHS dentist was about to convert to private, then changed his mind when he realised he could be paid to do no work during the pandemic if he stayed as NHS, then the moment the payments stopped, decided to go private. Took as much out of the system as he could.
No NHS dentist places left in Devon pretty much now, or at least not taking on new patients who have been dumped from the system.

Ironically 2 of the guys on my Wednesday rides are retired dentists. I suppose I could take a battery drill out with me and get one of them to fix my teeth during the cafe stop.

Oxo has been locked out - v68 do you still have special powers?

No, just give them a battering.
