    Morning les yeux

Was white. Now it's raining. Frikkin Gulf stream. Typical of this area.

Meeting later which won't be fun even though I will try.

Full winter garb, slightly too toasty ride in. Slowed down to catch some wind chill, speeded up when some cheeky buggers tried to cycle past me! Don’t they know I’m too toasty! Another low carb day to look forward to, I could murder some chips.

another couple of degrees colder would level my kit out nicely.

Cold walk with hounds and then the joys of the toll road (I do love leaving the booths flat out).

work stuff and then a chilled longish run with a pal later if timings work

Decided to work in the house until the Mercury rises above zero and give the icicles in the studio a chance to melt.

A light dusting of snow here created the usual chaos on the roads.

4X4 mode was engaged for the first time this season and worked perfectly (turn it on now and again to lubricate it through the summer)

Letting the traffic calm down then nipping across town for a site meeting.

Cracked 30 deg C here today, barely a cloud, but a steady NE wind which is always very dry. Mooched about for the most part, out to lunch, and picked up some bits to do bike fettling tasks. Re-cabled MTB/Gravel bike thing, and will shorten up brake lines next as they're too loopy.

Trying to update an old PC to probably sell, or at least giveaway. At this rate, it will be e-waste instead.

    Afternoon folks,

Another day of orifice based fun. Chilly out there this morning, my Garmin got down to -8G riding through the park and was still heading downwards. Was still heading up and had got to about -7G by the time I got to work. Didn't see the idiots without gloves, presumably the frostbite they got yesterday stopped them from riding today. Did see one madman on a Brompton in shorts. I had my usual cold start, comfortable through the park, too warm at this end. Had someone on a road bike drafting me for a while, I was going to tell him he should be ashamed of himself but realised I'd pulled out a gap so thought slowing down to taunt him was a bit mean. Obviously windchill was a huge problem at all of 15mph.

Out for beer and curry with some colleagues this evening, MD is coming so might get a bit more information on what's happening with this place. Hopefully things will start to improve this year, it can't get any worse surely.

The desert sounds nice and toasty warm, but Antarctica is a desert. Dessert is a much better idea.

    Onwards and upwards.

Deffo chilly - 3pm and there's still ice on The Panzer. Lucky I'm not going anywhere.

    Afternoon

Still a snot machine, so in to town to pick up a few things up then went for a walk in the spindrifty snow. Now just moping about.

First day back in the volunteer gardening post the op. Planned a later than usual start - take it easy steps - which went well: 2-3cm snow dumped in 30 mins meant The Slope got well slippery. And the tyres on the Škoda seem to have F all grip in minimal snow. And the roads were still black at normal start time of 9am I got told.

Just as well I have the 4x4 L200 else I could have had some problems... oh wait, the rumblewagon got sold. 🤔 I sense a tyre change a-coming. No contact was made with any solid object. Thank F.

Anyway, most of the day spent inside the warm glasshouse repotting all sorts of plants.

Now time for a glass of summat by the woodburner. Cheers.
