Accumulating enemies? Send me a WhatsApp message, I won’t ask questions, I’ll bring something heavy. We’ll teach those enemies a lesson 👍
You take tricky and the big one, I’ll handle shorty 😎 No biting or scratching or I’m out. Is beans on our side?

Nice cold run with a pal, especially fun watching the hounds ice skate 😂
work snizzle and a lunchtime easy run with a pal. Later is undecided but should really avoid the pub unlike last night

If young oxo would like some speeding lessons I’m available 👍

Well done for avoiding that fine. Hope you're not too bored and nod your head a lot and no 'buts'.
A judge in the US sentenced some yoofs who were habitually playing loud music in their cars to 4 hours of Barry Manilow. I kid you not. So be grateful.

He's not the cycling Messiah, he's a very naughty boy.
Speed awareness courses are very boring. 'Yes, I'm aware that I was speeding so can I go now?'

Damp and coldish here, got another cold after meeting lots of family etc over the last couple of weeks, so chill out day, maybe a turbo session tomorrow!

I don't get any spam. Maybe it's the Opera ad filter thingy, I dunno.
How's the eye? The eye problem will lead to obesity and then obesity to a heart problem and then a heart attack and death.

Yep, I try not to speed near big yellow boxes mounted on poles at the side of the road, seems to have worked.
Seano, how fast were you going?

35 in a 30 zone. I thought the big yellow box near traffic lights was a red light camera, not a speed camera 😕

You maniac Seano...a bit like the woman in this clip :)

Day of minimal achievement despite some effort. Sold some lead-light cabinet doors which we removed from the kitchen, and also some spare MTB shoes that really didn't suit me. Might try and offload a few more things too. Accumulated stuff from old unfinished projects, new un-started projects and random leftovers... Much of it is scrap for the tip I suspect.
Mobile Speed cameras are a popular thing here, thankfully to date they put them in the same few spots, on a fairly predictable schedule.

Same here, they even publish the locations for the coming month online (but not days and times).

You don't see the multiple spam posts?? How? There's loads of them again today.
The eye is improving slowly. Just been checked over by surgeon, a fast visit, was in and out in just 1/2 hour, he can see residual blood clot debris in the eye gel. Described it as being like a drop of dye in a glass of water, thins out but difficult to clear it all out in one go. 🤞continues to clear so vision gets better. Back to get re-checked in 5 weeks time. But, hey hello, I can start to get more active, not just sit on my arris doing nowt.

Afternoon folks,
Another delightful day in the orifice, managed a slow wobble in the cold at least. Slow because I was on the old MTB with the studded tyres fitted, sounds like riding over bubble wrap. No more drag than off road tyres on that i reckon, could still top 20 on the flat for a bit at least.
35 in a 30? You're so naughty Seano, our MD had to go on a speed awareness course for doing 23 in a 20, said he found it very difficult not to laugh at them. Don't complain too much about your missing nut Seano, could be a lot worse. A mate of mine had a car pull out on him as he was riding down a hill, most of him went over the top of it, but he left one nut on the roof rack 😱
Got to go round to the old dear's again tonight to fit a new battery to her car. Gave it a run on Sunday and it was alright on Monday, but dead as a dodo this morning. Hope to get to the pub after that.
Glad the eye's on the mend 'loon

Oh, and it seems Seano's not the only one slacking on the riding front. Just had a Strava notification telling me I've regained the 'local legend' status on part of my communt. Given that I've only ridden in twice since the 20th December I reckon there's much laziness all round.

Didn't know Strava did pub trips?

Afternoon.
Spent most of the day in the car sat in traffic in and out of Oxford. Seems only one road was open to access the City from the North. Grrr...
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

As a ex-Oxonian who spent more than 1/2 his life living outside Oxford, you want to drive into Oxford? You are crazee. Park and ride or train or bus.

Had no choice. My son is at uni there and had to drop him and his clobber off at his college near the centre. Appears Abingdon Rd was shut due to flooding hence the absolute chaos today.
Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Evening
Out with the Gerries today. A very wet, muddy, windy and cold 83 miles and I was only expecting to do about 60. So well stuffed, now having a glass of Red recovery drink.

Council here a while ago put one of those mobile signs that just flashed up your speed on approach, with a green smiley or red frown face depending on whether you were over the preset limit. No camera or tickets issued, just advisory. The idiot who programmed it set it at 50 km/h, except the stretch of road it was on is signposted at 60.
After a couple of days it disappeared. Turns out someone “stole” it, and council found it dumped later with the control module missing… 😁

We have a few of those as well but they're harmless.
I heard a story from Aus about some lads who saw a van based mobile speed trap on the same stretch of road pretty regularly so they cloned the plates, stuck them on their car and drove past the van several times at high speed 😀

The light up flashy ones are good for furious cycling towards to see if you can beat your top score.

I've managed it on a downhill stretch on the Communt.

When I had a motorbike I'd sometimes see how much difference I could get between the first flash and the last. This is obviously very childish and can't be condoned.
