Compliance

Hello,

  1. "Elastomer insert in a seatpost adds extra compliance"
  2. "The vertical compliance is very friendly for a racing wheel, making it ideal for longer distances"

Question: what does "compliance" mean? In the first sentence it clearly signifies flexibility (of the seatpost). In the second sentence it signifies what exactly?

Comments

  • Flexibility in a vertical plane but not at the expense of lateral stiffness, i.e. it doesn't flex sideways when you get out of the saddle.

Reads like Google translate did a poor job.

The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

It's not Google translation. These are 2 sentences from 2 articles from a popular website.
