London 2 Paris experience

Think of doing this next year - will be looking for a supported ride and will be self funded.

What concerns me is the Traffic in Paris and Champs ellse , arc de truimphe etc

Anyone any experience ?

I think the Avenue Verte takes you right into the centre of Paris along the Seine but not sure if that means it's dirt paths/slow shared use type paths.
  • Did this with Action Medical Research in 2008. At that time the approach to the city centre using the shared bus/cycle lanes was a sight less scary than riding out of London at the start.

For a supported ride I'd expect the organisers to group you together for a Peloton experience round the Arch and down the Champs Elysée.

There are plans to take almost all motor traffic off the champs, but I’m now reading this will be after the summer (olympics)
