Hi

I have a trek domane 2.3, and I have changed the rear tyre to 28, it was 25 originally

The tyre rubs with the brake arm (v brake),i fear it doesn’t seem to be compatible

Is there any way to adjust the position of the brake arm? I just need it to ne around 2mm higher

Thanks

  • Most likly a 25mm max on an older bike .Was the norm for brakes then
  • I've never heard of a domane with v brakes but I'd be surprised if v brakes couldn't accommodate 25c. MTB , cross and commuter bikes all used to have v brakes with much bigger tyres.

What year model is the Bike? Fairly sure it would have had road caliper type brakes as original equipment. Has someone fitted a V type brake for some reason? Where is the tyre fouling, the underside brake caliper or the seatstay bridge? Or if it is a V brake, is it the inside of the arms?

If it is a road type caliper brake, you may be able to solve the problem by fitting a Shimano 105 or other make road type caliper that has clearance for a 28mm tyre.
