Different width tyres (Gravel)

On my gravel bike, I currently have some legacy 33mm tyres brought over from a previous (CX) bike. One's worn out, some I'm taking the chance to fit a wider tyre (38). Would you put it front or rear? I can see benefits to both...
It's just a hill. Get over it.

    I'd put it on the front. Off road, you're going to get a bit more grip from the wider tyre under most conditions, and given a choice you want more grip at the front.

    More comfort and more aero by putting the 38mm on the rear.
