Gopping and windy - not seen the hounds quite so keen to come back inside after taking a their morning dump. Deferred pedalling into town tomorrow and fingers crossed it won't be too bad. Meetings and coffee beckon...

  • Wet and windy here too, gym sesh before work. Upped a few weights and feeling the strain now.

Morning all. Super bright and super windy here. Debbi Storm sounds like a porno name. I like it!
Got emergency dental appointment at noon. Half my tooth is broken off and sticking into the gum that is now inflamed. Nice.

    Sometimes. Maybe. Possibly.

Debi has wandered a bit too far north. Wheelie bin day, already rescued the neighbour's and mine, twice, now taken off street so have to listen out for the bin men. Fun stuff eh? What will I do with my day...? I hatez November.

Kitchen designer been in to take measurements, take on board my ideas, come up with new layout suggestion(s). Onwards.

  • Surprisingly nice day. not forecast. Washed a car this morning as it was filthy... then washed it again and it still needs a bit of work in a few spots to clean all the cr@p off. Out on taxi duty for a few hours with Mum, then a snooze in the sun when I got home.

Minor altercation with a swallow in the lounge room. Argument resolved with eviction in a hand towel.

    Morning
Breezy here and it’s supposed to get to 50mph plus this afternoon, so any riding will be on the turbo. I’ve done my chores so I might watch some cyclocross to psych up for turbo.

Yay Yay Yay Root Canal, Root Canal, Root Canal is done! Hurrah! Yup, tooth had snapped off a big chunk. Now patched up along with finishing the Root Canal work. Let's hope that's the end of this tooth saga! Face is as numb as a cocained anus at a Michael Barrymore's pool party.

Why is it ok to lie to a dentist?
    Because the tooth hurts.

    Afternoon folks,
How can it be Monday already? Busy weekend has flown by. Managed to wobble in, glad I checked the bike last night as I found a very flat back tyre, should probably go and check it now actually. A large flint had gone through the tyre, pick up a lot of those through the park in winter it seems. Really can't bring myself to ride horrible things like Marathon Plus though.

How does the weather know you've turned the map upside down?

Hopefully dry for the wobble home after a warm and moist ride in, Debi Storm is sounding more like a pornstar by the minute.

Stormy D? TrumpyBaby will be here in a flash.

The rain mostly stopped and the wind dropping, but not an outside day. So more loft insulation top ups rolled out, about 3/4 done now, getting there.
  • I swap to Gatorskins and slime tubes in winter after a fairly depressing week of three rides and four punctures.
That said I doubt I'll be up to much this winter other than the turbo if the knee op goes well.

I have Gatorskin hardshells on the communter bike. People slag them off for being slow, but they're not nearly as slow as someone stuck by the roadside in the cold and pissing rain fixing a puncture.

    Bah.

Vittoria Corsa 2.0 + graphene and latex inner tube.
Ditched a pair of worn out Corsa's in spring. Not a single puncture in 2 years on them.
[you can have your cake and eat it].

Gatorskins = shyte. Like rolling on thick treacle. A bit like Vittoria rubino's. They're similar but a bit better.

on the road for a dewy misty autumnal 17 degrees pre-sunrise, glad i had a gilet

much mistiness, but it warmed up fast once the sun was over the volcanoes, and climbed into the scorchios by midday, perfect november basking weather

  • Gator skins are fine, short hilly rides in heavier winter gear in winter mode and you hardly notice the difference.

I found that when I had one on the back wheel, I used to get wheel spin when I got out of the saddle on the hills. But of course that could have been down to the amazing amount of power I was putting out🤣

the tubular ones are awful, wet grip very poor, and no more resistant to cuts than conti sprinters, which have great wet grip

I bought a pair of Conti GP 5000s 28c's for the shiny summer bike and the damn things wouldn't fit in the frame. So I swapped the Corsa's over from the winter bike. They're 28's too though they fit.
So my winter bike has summer tyres and the summer bike has...
Anyhoo, no punctures with them, plenty of grip but I actually prefer the feel of the Corsa's.
