Any recommendations? Must take discs, 'guards, 28mm at least. Ideally not too expensive (£1k)
It's just a hill. Get over it.

Ribble CGR possibly?

Kinesis R2 is what I would go for. I have a Kinesis T3 at the moment, the limiting factor is that it will only take 25mm tyres with mudguards, the R2 will take 28mm which is fat enough for what I would use it for.0

My winter bike is the original Kinesis TK which like your T3 only takes 25s with guards. Great riding frame but the older I get the more I hanker after fatter tyres.
If I had to replace it I'd go for something gravelly to get said fatter rubber, hydraulic discs, but also which takes proper guards and a double chainset.
Winstanleys blurb says 30mm with guards for the R2.0 -
For a winter bike can't emphasize how much better bigger tyres make the whole experience. There's always a trade off between grip, ride, puncture resistance, rolling resistance on tyres. Bigger tyres help resolve those trade offs, making something much easier to live with; especially if tubeless and run at low pressure (running my 30mm at 55psi).
I'd personally go for the Kinesis, with 30mm tyres and guards.
The CGR is a very nice looking bike, but it would trouble me buying the ally frame for £900 when I know you can get the carbon frame bike fully built with 105 Di2 for £2400.0 -
Keep an eye on Halfords and Tredz for Black Friday-esque deals on the Boardman ADV 8.9 and/or maybe the ADV 9.0 complete bikes?
https://www.halfords.com/bikes/cyclocross-bikes/boardman-cxr-8.9-cyclocross-bike-528973.html was recently £900 before 8% British Cycling membership discount (Tredz still gets 10% iirc).================

I would definitely recommend the titanium Planet X Hurricane that I have. Easily 28mm tyres plus mudguards. Unfortunately its not in stock.
Px do have the Tempest frame in stock for about £1000 but that is designed for 1x so I don't think it has external cable stops for the FD.0 -
I'm using a Ribble Endurance SL
Ultergra Disc, 28mm 4 seasons with PDW mudguards0 -
That is, possibly, the fugliest road bike I have ever seen. The frame is OK but that paint job is just awful/offal!! Whoever thought that was a good design needs sacking!Munsford0 said:https://www.wiggle.com/p/vitus-substance-carbon-frameset

Hmmm. I quite like the simplicity. Hey ho.navrig2 said:

I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Yes, same. Looks to me like they just copied an Open WI.DE, no bad thing.pblakeney said:

I'd take a punt on something like this:

I've had carbon wheels from these guys and they've been great.0
