Cannondale System 6 BB Clarity Please :-/

Hello forum goers,

I have searched through previous posts only to become more confused. I have a cannondale system 6 which I brought last year, though I believe it is from the year before, so approx 2021. I was lead to believe that the bottom bracket was a PF30A, but other posts on the forum for the system 6 only mention BB30 spec ?

Ultimately I want to remove the hologram chainset and fit my shimano power chainset.

I was thinking of buying this BB ....

But now I'm just confused ?

Any help much appreciated
Regards

  • I would perhaps ask Cannondale Spares, they are pretty knowledgeable IME, having asked them a few questions relating to bearing sizes on a CAAD12 over the years.

I think you are correct on the PF30a over BB30 (just perhaps confirm it is a PF30a and not a PF30).

If you are, then the Wheels mfg should be correct. A quick note, I have had a couple of them and they do seem susceptible to water ingress on the NDS. Obviously the more you ride and wash your bike the more you need to keep on top of it (If you are doing a few rides a month in good weather it is less urgent). It is a straightforward BB to service though, you just remove the crank, take off the rubber bearing seal and re-grease. If you do go ahead with it, I would definitely give it a check after the first 3 months of riding.
