Morning all. WFH today. Not a great deal to do and finishing at lunchtime. Nice.

    Morning
A touch breezy here and the East side of the house is getting a fair old battering as there’s not much shelter between us and Hamburg on that side of the house. So there’s very little chance of bike ride unless I can build myself up to go on the turbo.

Decidedly damp. Child free week beckons but currently in the dog house for throwing a tea bag at the Missus.

Well I wouldn't put past you to give her a teabagging Seano.

Looks like it's soggy and grey here for the next 2 days nd most of next week so had better see if I can sort a ride on Sunday to make up for the lack of activity this week. Onwards with work stuff.

That’s for telling me off for spilling milk in my tea. Faulty milk carton, couldn’t be helped. She threw the tea bag back with interest.

The thick plottens: wet teabag or dry?

Dry here if windy 'n' grey. MOT (personal) test later this am, then more Stuff Sorting ahead of works a-comin' to The Project next week. Isn't autumn fun.

I wouldn't mess with her. Wet tea bags can leave a really horrific stain.
Was it a Twinings English breakfast or a really dangerous and strong Tetley?

In a dramatic change of plan due to striking Italians we're now going to Benidorm with two kids tomorrow.

Staying in the old town so slightly less seedier than the sticky vicky areas.

No cucumbers here but the candles have made a showing as we are 2 power cuts in already.

    Afternoon folks,
It's Friday but I'm in the orifice having done too much WFH earlier this week. Still bunking off early to get to a pub with the EPO, no teabags will be involved.
I agree with HD and otters pocket being the phrase I know. Nun's cucumber definitely a new one on me, might have to use it in future though.
    Enjoy Benidorm HD, bloody Italians

They're probably having a hissy fit because we spanked Italy 3-1 in the footy on Tuesday.

I believe Nun's Cucumber was coined by Steve Pemberton as one of his characters in The League of Gentlemen. Made me laugh at the time and still does.

Anyhows- stopped raining. Shopping shopped a day early and winter tyres fitted to the wagon. Got a lot of M-way miles coming up. More last minute Uni Open Days for daughter.

Been raining here for over 24 hours non stop :disappointed:
No sign of it stopping to give me a chance to find out what's blocking the gutters and clear it out.

It’s not stopped raining here. Last power cut happened just after after I got the oven hot enough to put dinner in.
Water continues to come through the garage roof ( see news thread for details)
So went to see MiL in hospital dropped off end of life medication. They say unless there’s a medical condition they can’t deal with, she will be staying there.
While Mrs W was there I walked down to Wickes to get some screws as the bedroom door has dropped. Ended up rather wet which sort of fitted in with the day generally.
However we did nip in to to town and I got a nice merino base layer for Rohan in the sale. So being a selfish git not all bad.😉
