    Less cold rather windy

Managed a hound walk and a little run, work stuff now followed by a run in the hills later if the weather is kind

Mornin'. WFW. Up early as was going to ride in. Forecast of storm John Wayne Bobbitt decided for me to take the car. In work 40 mins early which translates to at least an hour's early depart. Quick snooze before the office minions arrive. Win-win.

    Less cold so far...

Does that mean you're not going to Corfu?

Windy brrr but not as brrr as yesterday.

Swimming today. I might just watch instead. A bit goosed after yesterdays headwind/tractor chasing effort.

Currently spraying a wax jacket with vinegar to get the terrible funky stink out. Seems to be working.

What's wrong with just washing it (no conditioner)?

You can use soap powder. It looks like this:

But you need a washing machine.

Wouldn’t that strip the wax coating?

WFH as I've got my pensions/financial bloke coming round for the annual chat. Gardening bloke is busy planting some Laurels for Mrs. 666 up the top end of the garden. Other than that, dealing with the usual idiocy from overseas.

Will give it a good cold water soaking once the vinegar has killed the bacteria causing the musty smell.

I thought the musty smell was part of the wax jacket-wearing brigade?

Mrs P has a Solomon jacket. It gets washed periodically and then re-'waxed' with Nikwax which is very easy to use.

You can use this or the spray variety:

    Afternoon.
Very windy ride with the Gerries, lunch stop was a cafe in a container. Food was decent and cheap though. Later will be visiting Mrs W’s mum in hospital again I expect

if it is really THAT bad I'd handwash it in the bath using some Nikwax Tech Wash stuff and allow it to dry thoroughly before using some Barbour wax from

If that doesn't help then perfect clothing for the Guy on the bonfire coming to a local village near you soon! The added was should see it go up a treat!

It's Wednesday, I'll be going to a pub shortly.
Had to drop the old dear's car back to hers after work, 50 minutes to do a little over 3 miles. Dumped the car and got on my pub hack. Back home in 10 minutes in spite of wind and rain.
