Looks like today is the best day of the week so will make the most of it and pedal outdoors. Funny dat.

The rest of the day will be spent procrastinating.

TBH think I was done with summer after the 30+ for a week in September and I’m a big summer fan. Nature needs to settle back into her routine.

Early dart today to do snowdon with some friends, looks like we won’t get a decent sunset, but should be a giggle

I can't get used to calling it that, I'm one of that lost generation that was never taught Welsh in a Welsh school. I'll be running a marathon around it in a few weeks though and will call it many different things at various points!

Eryri marathon? Depending on the weather I would recommend comfy trail shoes

Nice. Done the Pyg Track/Miners Track twice with the kids when they were little and the Rangers path once. Got really fed up with Snowdon as there are far too many people on it. I found each and every one really annoying. So I looked at my OS maps and found the middle of nowhere and went up Carnedd Llewelyn next. Still saw about 6 other people. Have a nice walk today.

Love Llewelyn - done it a few times via pen yr ole wen. Moel hebog is also worth a visit.

Did a race around snowdonia a few years ago so recced and raced around most of the mountains - still can’t believe how many people ignore the fun ones to literally walk in single file in a train of people

Yeah, I've done it 3 times before. The weather has always been dodgy (snow on the hills twice and at the start on one of those, rain and 50mph wind on the other). I've always run in road shoes, there's a section of gravel road coming off Pen-y-Pass and then a grass steep downhill section around 24-25 miles in that gets quite treacherous when wet but other than that it is all tarmac. I did the trail marathon last year on one of those days with record temperatures, had to go up Snowdon on the Pyg trail at 19 miles in (having already done a mile of steep climbing to get to the youth hostel car park). I came very close to abandoning at the check point on Pen-y-Pass, to top it all the actual distance was over 27 miles and they send you on a pointless lap of Dolbadarn Castle at the finish despite already being over marathon distance.

Slight pain as BT and EE have conspired to screw up moving my mobile contract from one to the other and I now have to put up with a temporary number for a couple of days until they unravel the mess they created.

Now enduring an online diversity webinar...

Which way are you going BT-->EE or vice versa? I went plusnet --> EE and it was fairly smooth except it took a day longer than I imagined and had to swap out the SIM a couple of times to maintain contactableness. Plusnet is EE is BT anyway.

Only done it once (with 5k in training only 🙄) and on the grass section people were falling over left right and centre (one broke his collar bone)

    Great race though

Yeah, it's a favourite of mine along with Rhayader Around The Lakes 30k. I gained over 30 places on the descent the first time I did it which is still my quickest, last time I did it I had cramp up the final climb and down the descent. I'm better prepared than ever this year so no excuses - I'd done nothing before the trail marathon last year, I'd originally entered to do it in 2020 but it obviously got postponed.

BT --> EE, as my OH is an EE customer and got offered a really good deal on Broadband plus phone, which we thought would be easy as EE is part of BT like you say...anyhow, the new SIM has arrived in the post today so fingers crossed it will work once I've put it in. However BT for some reason cut me off before I had the chance to do that.

    Evening
It’s been wall to wall sunshine here, a bit chilly in the shade. Did my chores then went for a ride, a windy 75 miles blowing a bit at the end. Do I have a drink as reward despite Mrs W saying we are the wagon this week, however as she’s going out who’s to know.

    Evening folks,
Still feeling rough as a badger's aris' which is dull. Was hoping to shake it by now, don't want to waste a weekend being ill. More WFH as a result, busy as always and lots of phone calls.
Had a knock on the door from the Community Fibre people, offered 6 months free if I signed up. I was going to sign up anyway so I consider that a result. Looking forward to telling Virgin where to go.
Nice to see Pross in a daily thread, even if he is talking about this running nonsense.
Good to see everyone else as well of course.
My new assistant seems ok, although I've only had a day in the office with him.

Afternoon all that's work wrapped up till next week. My experience of going to EE from O2 / Sky was painful, transferred 3 family phones and we ended up on temp numbers for 2wks and no Internet for over a week. Then we discovered there signals have gone to 💩 in our area. CBA to do Snowden as its doable in flip flops and high heels. Much prefer Tryfan / Idwal side. Favourite scramble / jog is Glyder Fawr and Fach. Way nicer especially in winter.

Now on my temp number but at least the broadband is still OK. Turns out they got mixed up between my number and my kids number. They've promised we will both get our regular numbers back in 72 hours, we'll see. Mrs. 666 is on their case.

Old number restored - they said it might take 72 hrs but it took 24 so I'll let 'em off. Think it was one dozy call centre bloke who messed up and transferred my old number to my kids phone. However Strifey was very persistent and hounded them till they agreed to sort it.

We've also now saved about £35 a month on pur mobile and broadband package.
