Matt Downie breaks Mark Beaumont’s record by over an hour.

Not bad for a first endurance attempt with very little backing or support.

Quite incredible that he took an hour off the record.

    One of the very talented riders based just up the road from me, didn't see anything in his rides leading up to this that suggested an NC500 attempt.

    There's an article on GCN pretty much confirms someone suggested it to him and he just went for it after 3 months training.
