Shattered Sunday

Not sure if the post police will allow this, but I have been to bed, I’ve just not slept. Currently lying on the sofa watching the gp sprint race on catch up.

I did say I would run with some friends who are coming back from injury, but I might be sensible and just chill, as the soles of my feet are on fire and very sore.

Pub isn’t in doubt, I imagine not long after the wife returns from her weekend away

Relaxing morning then early afternoon ride with a mate in subtropical Kent. That's about all I have planned for now.

Even better. Morris Ital. Or a Simca 1100. Both cars owned by my father in the 80's.

    Austin Princess please.

We had a DAF 44 Automatic in Kenya.
I think it was the same transmission that Volvo used. 'The elastic band drive'.

Morning all. I'm assuming you completed your nutters run Mr T. 👊.
Busy day doing family shizzle. I'll raise you on the car front, zodiac, cresta Austin 1300, daf 44 basically all 💩cars. I used to cringe if offered a lift to school. He only ever had 3 decent cars when he was driving. There were more but I can't remember there names other than obligatory 💩 car when they went wrong.

We also had an escort mark 1 and a Fiat Uno before I left home.

    Brooklands

Kids mad for the newer Ferrari, Lamborghini etc but prefer the older models. The Alfa and Citroen above were probably my favourites.

    Afternoon
Another slow start as it was murky, misty and wet here. So went round a few garden centres with Mrs W as she was fine with buying a new winter cycling jacket. Sun was out when we got back so I went for a ride.
The first car my dad owned was a Ford Anglia which had a large Lotus sticker on the back bizarrely.

    Evening folks,
Lovely weather out there, is it really October, significantly nicer than August was.
Wobbled over to the old dear's on the old roadie. Saw aunt and uncle that own the flat we stayed in last week and told them about our trip. Dealing with old folk with dementia is rather challenging.
Brooklands is a great place Seano, glad you both enjoyed it.
One of the directors at work had a Marina pick up with a V8 in it about 40 years back. Got pulled over for doing 3 figure speed with a trailer on the back. Told the policeman it was impossible and his hairdryer must be faulty as they couldn't go that fast without a trailer. Apparently the policeman was quite confused and let him go.
