H Plus Son Archetype Wear

Hi,
I've had my H Plus Son Archetypes for some years now and was checking the condition.
Not much concave and there are wear indicator dots.

Simple enough, are the water dots a sign all is okay or are they exposed when worn?

Internet has not provided an answer and Hplusson are not answering an email enquiry.

Cheers!

The dots are present on a new rim, when brake surface wears away to the depth of the dot and the dot dissapears, then it's time for a new rim. Assuming even rim wear if you can still see the dots then you have some life left in the rims.

Perfect! Means I can save money for another year towards the next lightweight set.
No excuse to buy a new set now though. 😉

I decided to measure my Archetype rims as the dot was just about worn out before a trip to Mallorca. Measurement implied there was 1mm left.
Second day the rear rim split but not a disaster because the tube held.
Luckily I manged to hire a wheel for the week.
So if the dot has gone then replace.

Nah, very clear dot. Thanks for the heads up though as I've had a rim blow out while pumping up a tyre. Very noisy and a little frightening! ;)
Suspect this means current training wheels and a new set for Spain in June to be safe.
